Santa Monica Beach Houses
A clustered group of homes on Santa Mónica beach, near Punta del Este, organized around a shared central courtyard, with all units enjoying open sea views. The architecture is simple, modular, and low-maintenance—with the potential to prefabricate key components and assemble them on site.
Set on the shoreline of Santa Mónica, close to José Ignacio and Punta del Este, this project proposes a calm coastal ensemble arranged around a central courtyard—a protected shared outdoor room that organizes access, builds community, and provides shelter from coastal winds while remaining open to the horizon. Each home is carefully positioned to secure clear, uninterrupted views to the sea, with living spaces and terraces oriented toward the water.
The construction strategy is deliberately simple, modulated, and low-maintenance, prioritizing durability and ease of operation in a seaside environment. The design is based on repeatable elements and rational details, with the option to develop factory-made components and complete on-site assembly efficiently—reducing construction time while maintaining architectural quality. The result is a coherent beachfront community: understated in form, precise in execution, and defined by light, landscape, and the ocean.
